General Information
Scientific name : Matricaria recutita and Matricaria discoidea
Two basic types.
- German Chamoile: An annual plant that really likes the sun. Reseeds itself when some of the flowers are unpicked.
- Roman Chamoile: Low growing perenial tolerating most soil conditions. Really enjoyes being in the sun too.
Growing near herbs will actually increase the essential oil production.
Companion plant information
Chamomiles plants accumulate calcium, potassium and sulfur. Good in composts and when returned to the soil.
